About the Company

Furoid was founded in 2017 to use the Furoid IP for growing human hair follicles inseparable from skin to grow fur and wool in the same way.

Material

Furoid intends to use its technology for growing human hair follicles in a petri dish to grow animal pelts and hides. Furoid continues to show its ‘bioprinted’ hair follicles and skin tissue prototype as proof of concept.

Technology

Furoid claims to bring together multiple stem cells in conditions to “spontaneously grow into a three-dimensional miniature tissue (called an organoid), in this case a wool follicle.”

According to their website: “FUROID™️ has invented a process of cell-specific enrichment, genetic engineering, differentiation and disposition of specific cells in engineered tissues. This bioengineered tissue will be inseparably attached to nucleic acid molecular signature combinations that allow to determine authenticity and assist the manufacturing process.”
