About the Company
Polybion is a Mexican-based company that uses waste as raw material and bacterial cellulose-based to produce next-gen leather thus driving the circular economy and increasing sustainability.
Material
Celium® is a vegan and organic next-gen leather composed of bacterial cellulose. It can be customized by color, graining, embossing, and it is water resistant.
Technology
Polybion develops Celium by feeding bacteria with agro-industrial fruit residues. In a medium, a favorable environment is created for cellulose to be structured as a metabolic by-product. Once formed, the cell-based Celium membrane undergoes a non-harmful stabilization process to achieve the desired characteristics.
Applications
Fashion, Accessories, Sportwear.
Selected Brand Partnerships
