Material

Provenance Biofabrics’ patent-pending microbial platform makes a functional, full-length collagen for B-to-B applications in pharmaceutical gelatin, bio leather, and cell-based meat scaffolding. This function form of collagen called full-length, type 1, is ideal building block for producing the new material.

Technology

Provenance Bio crosslinks collagen by using mechanical actuators to recreate the stresses and strains that occur in natural animal development resulting in distinct features and surface textures. From a single collagen molecule, the skin is developed through a multi-level process recreating leather in nano and meter length scales, the same way animal skin is made in nature.
