About the Company

AltMat is a company focused on creating sustainable textile materials produced from widely available agricultural waste. The company’s flagship product is Altag which can be manipulated to create next-gen wool or next-gen fur.

Material

Altag is a natural cellulose material recycled from agricultural waste from food, medicine and other non-textile crops. Supported by sustainable circular technology and a regenerative supply chain, it cleanly solves the dual problem of agricultural waste and material pollution.

Technology

A combination of mechanical, enzymatic, and non-hazardous chemical sciences is applied to transform biomass waste into a consistent natural fiber. The fibers are not regenerated, which significantly reduces water, chemical, and energy needs. The process has the potential to also generate bio-energy and biochemistry as by-products.

Applications

Fashion, Footwear, Accessories, Home, and Automotive Interiors.
