Vice President Additional Materials

Dr. Reiner Hengstmann is the Vice President Additional Materials at ISA TanTec, leading the development of new materials within the Creation of Sustainable Materials (COSM) department.
He was the Global Director for Sustainability and Compliance at the sporting goods company Puma from 1999 to 2016 and subsequently, Senior Head of Global Sustainability at Hugo Boss in Germany. Under his leadership PUMA was awarded the German National Sustainability Aware for the Best Sustainable Strategy in 2010 and became the Dow Jones Sustainability Sector lead in the same year. The PUMA Environmental Profit and Loss (EP&L) was developed in his department.
His main areas of work include chemicals management, new materials, sustainability training, and socio-environmental impacts in the consumer goods industry. As a member of the board of the Sustainable Textile School, he is committed to its continued international development. Reiner Hengstmann founded the international boutique consulting firm in 2017.
From 2017 until 2021 he was a member of the steering committee of the Science Platform Sustainability 2030 in Germany and a member of the working group on Sustainable Consumption.
