Biotecam is a Brazilian biotech company that operates mainly in the development of aeration systems for improvement of water quality. In the materials area, Biotecam created a biomaterial via microbial cultivation, initially studied for use in the treatment of burn injuries. This product was then adapted for use in the fashion sector.
Biotecam promotes their biomaterial Texticel as a leather alternative.
Texticel is composed of cellulose obtained by bacterial fermentation. The general production time is three weeks for cultivation and one week for drying and finishing.
